Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Detect variation early and stabilise processes with practical SPC tools.
Programme overview
This technical course is a two-day workshop equipping engineers and quality teams in Penang's manufacturing and semiconductor operations with the statistical thinking behind Statistical Process Control.
Participants learn where variation comes from, how to construct and interpret control charts, how to revise control limits correctly and how to assess process stability and capability so deviations are detected before defects occur.
What participants learn
- Understand variation, its types and its impact on quality
- Construct control charts for continuous and binomial data
- Interpret process signals using trend rules and SPC best practices
- Revise control limits using valid statistical guidelines
- Perform process stability and capability analysis using Cp and Cpk
- Differentiate stability from capability in real-world scenarios
